Board templates

A template is a ready-made starting point for a board: a set of lists (columns) and board labels. When you create a board from a template, the lists and labels are created for you, and you can change them afterwards like on any other board.

sol2flow comes with built-in templates for common ways of working. Your workspace can add its own workspace templates on top.

Browse templates

Choose Templates in the sidebar to see all templates available in the workspace. Use Search templates… to find one by name.

Create a board from a template

  1. Choose New board on the boards overview, or Use template on the Templates page.
  2. Under Start with, pick the template (the list is searchable). Choose Blank board to start from scratch.
  3. Adjust the lists if you like — rename, add or reorder them.
  4. Finish creating the board as usual. See Boards and views.

Create a template

Workspace admins manage the workspace's templates.

  1. On the Templates page, choose New template.
  2. Enter a Template name.
  3. Under Lists, add the columns every board made from this template starts with, and drag them into order. People can rename or add lists later.
  4. Under Labels, add the board labels to create with each new board, and pick a colour for each. Use them to tag tasks, for example by type or priority.
  5. Save the template.

A template needs a name and at least one list.

tip

Workspace labels are available on every board anyway, so you don't need to add them to a template. See Labels.

Save a board as a template

If a board's structure works well, reuse it: open the board's menu and choose Save as template. This creates a new workspace template from the board's structure, so the next board can start the same way.

Edit or delete a template

On the Templates page, choose Edit on one of your workspace's templates to change its name, lists or labels, or Delete to remove it.

Changing or deleting a template doesn't affect boards already created from it.
