Cloud or self-hosted
The cloud and a self-hosted instance run the same code. Boards, tasks, time tracking, imports, the REST API and webhooks work the same way in both. The difference is who runs the server.
| sol2flow cloud (recommended) | Self-hosted | |
|---|---|---|
| Who runs it | we do | you, on your own server |
| How to start | create an account | Docker Compose |
| Updates, backups, email | included | up to you (Backups and upgrades) |
| Instance administrators | our support staff | your own admins |
| Single sign-on with your identity provider (OIDC) | where the cloud offers it | any OIDC provider you configure |
On a self-hosted instance, your own staff administer everything. Instance Owners and Admins are automatically admins of every workspace that isn't private. See Staff roles.
